Lottery lawsuit dropped

Four workers attempted to sue their co-workers after they won a Mega Millions lottery  jackpot but the lottery lawsuit was dropped yesterday. The four claimants were not at work on the day of the Mega Millions draw to throw their dollar into the lottery syndicate pot but they claim that they should get their share as members regularly covered for each other.

Back in December of last year a lottery syndicate of local authority employees from Ohio won the $207 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot after matching the 5 main numbers and the Mega Ball but four colleagues of the lucky lottery winners who only contributed to the lottery syndicate infrequently claimed that they too should receive a share of the massive Mage Millions jackpot.

The four alleged that players would often cover each other’s share of the ticket costs and also claimed that the winning lottery ticket was bought with winnings from a previous, smaller lottery win. However these claims were dismissed by the lawyers acting on behalf of the winning syndicate, using meticulously kept records as evidence to support their dismissal. The records clearly showed the number and names of those who played, which varied from week to week with some members playing most weeks and others, including the four who filed the lawsuit, playing less frequently. The four have the right to resubmit their claim within 12 months and a statement from their legal representation read “At this point in time, our clients will be considering all of their options.”

It’s never nice when you get missed out but imagine missing out on a life-changing sum of money like this. We hear lottery news stories similar to this all of the time but the simple moral of the story is “you’ve got to be in it to win it” and the four disgruntled workers simply weren’t in it. Don’t miss your chance to be a lottery winner.
