Following in the footsteps of music mega-stars Sir Paul McCartney, U2, Sir Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Ringo Starr and many others, Coldplay are to appear in the latest series of the Simpsons TV show. In this 20th anniversary edition of the long-running comedy Homer wins the lottery and books Coldplay to perform at the family home in Springfield.

The six times Brit Award winners who have sold over 50 million albums worldwide are being turned into cartoons for this special episode. Chris is the only member of the band with a speaking part but all members will be turned yellow just like their famous single of the same name in 2000. Since it was first broadcast in 1989, there have been 441 episodes of The Simpsons created, making it the longest-running American sitcom in history.

In this new Simpson’s episode Homer buys a ticket for the lottery and wins the jackpot. Homer starts splashing out on expensive luxuries and books one of the biggest bands on the planet, Coldplay to play a gig at his house. The Simpson’s executive producer Al Jean revealed: “When Bart goes to the bathroom, Coldplay have to stop.” Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay recorded his part with Dan Castellaneta (the voice of Homer) last week. He only had four lines to record but is said to have thoroughly enjoyed himself doing so.

So Homer wins the lottery and books Coldplay but who out of all the pop stars in the world would you book to play a gig in your home if you were to win the lottery? You will need to actually buy tickets for a lottery before you can start phoning the stars to book them.
