Last week we bought you details about the mystery surrounding the massive Euromillions rollover that had sat unclaimed since it was won on Friday 8th October despite a Co-Op worker from Sunderland posting a photograph of a supposedly winning ticket on Facebook and claiming to be the lucky winner. It turns out this was just one of many fake claims received by Camelot including over one thousand from players who insisted they had lost the winning ticket but we can now confirm that the real winner has stepped forward and the Euromillions rollover paid out.

It has been a crazy time since the Euromillions lottery reached record levels early in the month as players the world over scrambled to take part to try and win the huge £113 million lottery fortune. When the news hit that one lucky ticket holder had matched all five numbers we all sat with baited breath waiting to find out the name of the person who overnight had become the 589th wealthiest person in Britain. In the week that followed we received reports from all over the country from people who insisted they had lost the winning ticket including one from a 70 year old pensioner in Coventry who told her local paper her husband had accidentally binned it.

Last night though Camelot confirmed that the Euromillions Lottery rollover jackpot winner has now come forward and their winning ticket has been produced and verified and the £113,019,926 fortune paid out. The winner is deciding whether or not to go public with their good fortune or remain hidden. Whatever they decide to do their life will never be the same again and even if they decided to leave this money sitting in the bank they could live a life of luxury on the £9,000 a day interest they would earn.
