If you won a lottery jackpot surely you would be desperate to cash your lucky ticket in. Not for one man. An Australian lottery winner waited seven months before claiming his $2 million prize and even then he considered waiting longer.

A 48 year old Australian small business owner won the lottery last year but waited seven months before taking his cash. The lucky Aussie who describes himself as “a bit of a crazy sort of bloke” said that he need time to get his head around the idea of being a rich man. He told New South Wales Lotteries “There was something about claiming that much money that I wasn’t ready for. I had to get my head around it.” He continued by saying “I actually thought about leaving it another couple of months.”

Being a small business owner has made the man respectful of money and he was also wary of how big lottery wins have ruined other people’s lives. He was comforted merely by the fact that the ticket was in a tin at home. The patient lottery winner was happy to continue as normal while he came to terms with his new-found fortune, further comforted by the safety buffer that the winning lottery ticket now provided.

Would you have that much control if you had a fortune waiting to be claimed (and spent!)? To find out you must first win the lottery and you can play right here at Online-Lotto.
