Over the past 12 months there have been 132 National Lottery millionaires created from over 260 jackpot winners who played the various National Lottery games. Not only were there 132 lottery winners who received over £1 million but 2009 has also seen some of the biggest lottery jackpot prizes in UK lottery history.

On average, there were over ten new millionaire UK lottery winners made each week during 2009. These millions of pounds of lottery prizes were won playing various lottery games provided by the National Lottery, with most coming from the Lotto and EuroMillions draws. On average the National Lottery awarded over 4 million prizes each week during 2009 with prizes ranged from £1 to £45.5 million. Throughout this year a total prize pool of nearly £500m was dished out to lucky National Lottery players.

At the top of the 2009 multi-million pound lottery jackpot list was the enormous EuroMillions win for a couple from South Wales and a lottery syndicate of IT workers from Liverpool. Back in November, Les Scadding from Newport shared the £91 million five-time rollover EuroMillions jackpot with seven lottery syndicate members from a BT call centre in Liverpool. Les became the biggest ever UK lottery winner, beating the £35.4 million UK lottery record set by Angela Kelly back in 2007.

So another year of lottery draws is over but if you want to buy tickets for any of the National Lottery’s games in hope of becoming one of the names on next year’s millionaire lottery winners list you can do so right here at Online Lotto.
